"But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not grow weary; they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
We at Two Journeys are thrilled to introduce a new series from Andy Davis called "Maturing Christians Develop" based on his book An Infinite Journey. Learn how to make great strides forward in your personal sanctification. The struggle to grow in spiritual maturity is like running in a great race, the greatest race of your life. Bible writers often compared the Christian life to this sweaty, pounding, and exhilarating sport. Why? Because the more you run the more you come to the end of yourself and your personal resources - your oxygen, your energy, your endurance. You can only keep going by depending on God who gives you strength.
"The struggle to grow in spiritual maturity is like running in a great race, the greatest race of your life."
The internal journey of sanctification is an infinite one, as Andy Davis says, because it requires the infinite resources of Almighty God to run across the finish line. Discover how applying the principles of knowledge, faith, character, and action can propel you forward in your sanctification efforts and multiply your gospel fruitfulness. Andy will be covering topics like knowledge of the Bible, guidance by the Holy Spirit, heart affections like Christ's, and healthy habits of evangelism, giving, prayer, repentance, and faith. What can motivate us to keep running? The hope of crossing the finish line of spiritual maturity by the grace of God and saying with Paul, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" (2 Timothy 3:7).
Join us on this journey of developing spiritual maturity! Starting next Tuesday, we will be posting a new article from Andy every week explaining one of the steps of spiritual growth: knowledge, faith, character, and action. See how God orchestrates every event in our lives for our blessing and growth in godliness as well as our gospel fruitfulness. To get a head start, check out any of the multitude of free online sermons, classes, articles, and podcasts available at twojourneys.org. We can't wait to see you there!
